- Sophomore Joe Klecker took home top honors in the men's 10-kilometer race at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships, while the top-ranked women's team recorded their fifth straight region title.
- For the third straight year, the women's cross-country team reigned supreme as the Pac-12 champions, taking home the title Friday afternoon, with team member Dani Jones winning the individual championship. The men's team successfully landed second place.
- Kaitlyn Benner has been named the Pac-12 women's cross-country Scholar-Athlete of the Year, an accolade for student-athletes who are standouts academically and in their sports.
- Only one team will emerge from Saturday's Homecoming game with its second Pac-12 conference win; and if the two teams' last meeting is any indication, it will go down to the wire.
- Gov. John Hickenlooper and É«½ä³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ Mayor Suzanne Jones have signed proclamations declaring this Saturday as Ralphie's 50th Anniversary Day in honor of the famed CU mascot.

- CU Athletic Director Rick George has implemented the department's first three-year strategic plan aimed at making Colorado "nationally recognized as a premier athletics program."
- It's not difficult to figure out what the Buffaloes must do Saturday against the Huskies. After all, the two teams played just nine months ago in the Pac-12 championship game, a game Washington won.
