We sent this email at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, to current undergraduate students who took classes in Spring 2025 and were eligible to register for Fall 2025 (multiple exclusions applied).

Dear [first],

Continuing undergraduate registration for Fall 2025 closes May 22 at 11:59 p.m. After May 22, you will not be able to add or edit your classes until the schedule adjustment period opens July 23.

Waitlist processing for Fall 2025 classes will pause starting May 23 and will resume July 23. For the best chance to get the classes you want, we encourage you to register as soon as possible.

Your enrollment status may affect your eligibility for housing, tuition remission, health insurance, financial aid, loan deferment status, purchasing a CU Sports Pass and more. If you're considering dropping below full-time status, contact the applicable offices to find out how this change could affect you.

Following what we've done in previous semesters, we'll be running the PERC process in batch for summer and fall according to the schedule below.

Just a reminder that post-enrollment requirement checking (PERC) gives admin users the ability to see if an enrolled student has met the requirements for a class and, if not, which requirements have not been met. Please note that the PERC process looks at both restrictions (major restrictions, minimum unit restrictions, etc.) and prereqs/coreqs that are set up as a requisite on the class.

For more detailed information about using PERC, navigation, using the drop feature via the PERC roster, etc., please see our PERC webpage.

Please note: If you want to drop a student because they do not meet the requirement, you can do so through the deadline to drop without a W grade. However, you should try to have these done before the first day of classes when possible. If you do drop a student, you are responsible for contacting the student to let them know they've been dropped and why.

Summer 2025 PERC Schedule

PERC will run for spring classes in the evening on the following dates:

May 15: After spring grading deadline and I-to-F conversion
June 4: After Maymester grading deadline (could be a prereq for a later session)
July 9: After grading deadline for session A (could be a prereq for a later session)
July 30: After grading deadline for session C (could be a prereq for Augmester)

Fall 2025 PERC Schedule

PERC will run for fall classes in the evening on the following dates:

May 15: After spring grading deadline and I-to-F conversion
June 4: After Maymester grading deadline (could be a prereq for a later session)
July 9: After grading deadline for session A (could be a prereq for a later session)
July 30: After grading deadline for session C (could be a prereq for a later session)

Aug. 13: After grading deadline for B/D sessions
Aug. 18: The Monday before the first day of classes
Aug. 21: At the beginning of the semester
Aug. 27: After the first week of classes

Running PERC Manually

If you have class rosters that do not have the Post Enroll Req Status field populated after our last run of PERC on Aug. 27 (see example screenshot below), and the students without this field populated added the class prior to that date, please contact cusisdev@colorado.edu to inquire about running PERC manually on your class roster.

We sent this email on Monday, April 21, 2025, to students who were enrolled in a Fall 2025 class that was evaluated as eligible for grade replacement.

Dear [first],

According to our records, you've enrolled to retake the same class or a direct equivalent of [Class] in Fall 2025. We've evaluated that this class is eligible for grade replacement.

Grade replacement is applied automatically at the end of each term for eligible courses and students. We’ll send you another email once grade replacement has been applied to your record (after grades have posted at the end of the semester).

Remember, the grade you earned in the most recent prior attempt will still appear on your transcript, but it will be replaced in your cumulative GPA and credit totals by the grade from your latest attempt as long as that grade is the same or better.

Repeating a Course Without Grade Replacement

If the course becomes ineligible for grade replacement, grade replacement won’t be applied and the grades from both attempts will be included in your cumulative and major GPAs, credit totals and academic standing. For example, if a lower grade is earned in the latest attempt, or if you withdraw or drop the class. Learn more about the eligibility requirements for grade replacement.

You may also repeat a course without grade replacement by submitting an opt-out request from your Colorado email to registrar@colorado.edu by the last day of the semester. Opting out of grade replacement is irreversible. Please meet with your advisor to discuss how opting out of grade replacement will impact your GPA and academic standing.

Registration for continuing undergraduates closes Thursday, May 22 and will not reopen until July 23 for schedule adjustment. Continuing undergraduate students will not be able to add or edit classes between Friday, May 23 and Tuesday, July 22, a two-month black-out period.

The black-out period is a longstanding practice, developed collaboratively over time to serve the needs of incoming first-year students. Schools/colleges use this period to support and advise new students as they enroll in classes, without those students competing with continuing students for seats in classes.

This black-out period is the same duration as the previous summers (two months), but it begins three weeks earlier this spring due to new student registration starting earlier (June 9).

Continuing undergraduate students who do not register by the May 22 deadline will need to be manually registered by their academic advisor or the Office of Undergraduate Education starting June 9, after batch enrollment is complete for first-year students.

Registration for graduate and law students will not be affected; their registration period remains open through open enrollment.

Fall 2025 registration for continuing undergraduate students closes Thursday, May 22 and will reopen July 23 for schedule adjustment. Because students won’t be able to add or edit classes during this window of time, it is recommended that they register and make the necessary schedule adjustments prior to May 23.
